COX's army prepare for the long journey to the front lines of Europe.
This photograph was taken around 1915, probably not long after Edwin Cox had signed up for military service. It shows the troops on board the train which is to take them east to Thunder Bay for the voyage to Europe. Clearly in high spirits, little did they know that many of them would never return. The various slogans depict such messages as "Kaiser Bill We Are Coming"; "Kenora Roughnecks"; "Kenora Die Hards" and of course, "Cox's Army".
If anyone recognises a face, please let me know.
