    The original of this photograph has badly deteriorated and so this photograph has been "digitally contructed" from the heads and shoulders of the originals. The original photo is dated 1931.

    NB: Although recorded as Gertrude Bassett in the 1920 census of Rhode Island, further research identifies her as Gertrude Garron and that she was either adopted or "fostered" by Frank and Alida Bassett. If this is true, then it would explain why, in the 1920 census, she was recorded as Gertrude Bassett but in the 1930 census as Gertrude Garron.
